So many ways to tie a reversible bow tie.

As you can see in the pictures, a freestyle bow tie also allows you to play with the shape and fullness of your bow, something you cannot achieve with a pre-tied model. A couple of days ago, a friend of mine was practically frothing at the mouth as he yelled at two Project Runway contestants parading across the TV screen in pre-tied bow ties. I have to agree. A pre-tied model is fine for that first time you nervously finger a bow tie at your local thrift shop thinking, “can I pull this off?” But if you really want to step up your sartorial game, or if you’re a competitor on a popular TV show that is all about clothing, then learning to tie a freestyle bow tie will be 10 minutes of your life well spent.

This tie was handcrafted by the good folks at The Cordial Churchman. They offer several reversible options in the online store. They do not actually list the red/navy option on the website, but since every bow tie is made to order, I was able to request a navy back side to my red tie. They can make up just about anything from the fabrics in stock, and you can even send them your own fabric or old regular tie to convert into a bow tie.
